Our Story
Founded By Joseph M. Dioguardi
9/25/1940 - 7/9/2021
In 1968, after completing barber school, Joe D became a licensed barber. He started his first job at Barbers “6” in the Greece Ridge Mall where he spent the next 11 years mastering his craft.
In September 1979, Joe D left Barbers “6” and opened The Shearing Post in the old Falco’s Plaza on Ridge Rd W. In 1992, The Shearing Post moved to 4606 Ridge Rd W, on the NW corner of Manitou Rd. In 2005, Joe D’s son, Paul, started his apprenticeship and spent the next few years learning everything his father had to teach him.
In 2009, Joe D and Paul decided to purchase the property at 4606 Ridge Rd W. In 2012, Paul took over the business and changed the name to Joe D’s Barbershop to honor his fathers hard work and dedication. With a fresh look, Joe D’s Barbershop is ready for the next 40 years to bring every client a great cut and experience.
